Summit County, Colorado, has acquired a new BearCat G3 in efforts to increase the protection and safety of civilians and officers in the community. Police Chief Tom Wickman noted that the response team “needed equipment to match its mission of responding in a coordinated way to the most dangerous situations we might face in Summit County and neighboring communities, including barricaded armed individuals, the execution of high-risk warrants, hostage situations and mass casualty events.” The BearCat will be added to a fleet of 2 repurposed armored military vehicles—however, Chief Wickman looks forward to the addition of a vehicle designed specifically for Law Enforcement. “As a police chief, I feel much better having a tool, like the BearCat, that will allow our first responders to negotiate, respond and operate with greater protection and to respond with more maneuverability in harsh weather conditions.” Read more here: https://lnkd.in/eH84w__5. #LawEnforcement #BearCatAcquisition #LencoBearCat #PublicSafety #ResponseandRescue #ArmoredVehicle #FirstResponse #LencoArmoredVehicles

Brick Township, NJ is preparing for winter storms by acquiring a BearCat G3 High-Water Rescue Vehicle. “The township first began investing in high-water and more capable off-road vehicles following the blizzard of 2010 and Superstorm Sandy less than two years later. A township woman died after suffering a medical emergency during the blizzard when the snow was too deep for traditional ambulances or rescue vehicles to reach her, and the need for such vehicles became more clear after evacuations were required during the flooding caused by the hurricane.” BearCats save lives—even outside of violent incidents.
