The commercial real estate (CRE) industry is about so much more than properties and transactions—it’s about people. It’s about family. Today, we come together as a community to support two families in our local CRE network who are facing an unimaginable loss. On Friday, December 20th, Ned Brady of Lee & Associates and his wife, Amy, tragically lost their beloved daughter, Meghan Merkert. Meghan was also the cherished daughter-in-law of Hayes Merkert, Jr. and his wife, Molly, of MacKenzie Commercial Real Estate Services. Meghan leaves behind her devoted husband, Hayes Merkert, III, and their two beautiful daughters, Peyton and Margot. At the time of this heartbreaking loss, Meghan and Hayes were also preparing to welcome another little girl, Ainsley. In the spirit of unity and compassion, MacKenzie and Lee & Associates invite the CRE community to rally together in support of these families. Our shared goal is to ease their burden during this difficult time and provide lasting support for the girls’ futures, particularly their education. Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference and serve as a testament to the strength and solidarity of this community. In honor of Thanksgiving we decided to spread a little happiness with www.weekendbackpacks.org. Weekend Backpacks aims to provide nutritious, child-friendly food to students who typically receive free meals in school for the weekends. Last year they provided 950,000 meals to school children in the Baltimore metro area.
