Our mission is to positively transform the lives of Latino youth, families, and communities.
About us
Latino Network was founded in 1996 by community leaders who grew concerned about the lack of adequate resources to meet the needs of the growing Latino community. Since that time, we have evolved to become an organization that also encompasses transformational programs aimed at educating and empowering Multnomah County Latinos. Low achievement scores, youth violence and high drop out rates undermine the Latino community’s potential. We address these issues by promoting early literacy, encouraging parent involvement, working with gang-involved and adjudicated youth and families, and providing academic support and activities to high school aged youth. We also build leadership capacity for youth and adults. Focus We are a Latino-led education organization, grounded in culturally-specific practices and services, that lifts up youth and families to reach their full potential. Our work springs from the core belief in Latino community self-determination—that is, the ability of community members to participate meaningfully in the decisions that affect their lives and the lives of their families. Values Accountability: The commitment to excellence and results Culture: The continued connection to our rich histories, languages, and diversity. Collaboration: The power of multicultural, multi-generational, and cross-sector partnerships Education: The key to advancement for all Latino children and youth Self-Determination: The empowerment, leadership development, and active engagement of Latinos in the decisions that affect their lives. Social Justice: The organization and integration of Latino communities as a catalyst for equity and social change. Our programs for children and parents, youth and adults help improve community livability, foster civic participation, and prepare for educational and life success.

Gracias to our supporters, partners, staff, volunteers, and the 11,000 youth and families who participate in our programs and services each year. All of the work we do would not be possible without the generosity and trust we have from our wonderful and resilient community. We would also like to acknowledge the colonialist nature of the origin of this holiday. We encourage all who celebrate to remember the violence against indigenous communities that is baked into Thanksgiving's history and to not celebrate this history, but rather give thanks for the support systems and loved ones in our own lives. From all of us at Latino Network, we wish you and your loved ones a safe, healthy, and memorable holiday season.🍁🍂 -- 🌟¡Feliz Semana de Acción de Gracias!🍂 Queríamos agradecer a nuestra familia de Latino Network. Today is Transgender Day of Remembrance 🕯️🏳️⚧️, A day where we memorialize the incredible trans individuals who have been murdered as a result of transphobia. The rise in anti-LGBTQ+ and anti-transgender legislation in the US has made the last few years among the most deadly on record for trans-Americans and transgender individuals around the world. We take today to mourn them, to acknowledge the transphobia that has perpetuated this epidemic, and to pledge to fight back against it on behalf of trans people everywhere. 💔🕯️🏳️⚧️ — Hoy es el Día del Recuerdo de las Personas Transgénero 🕯️🏳️⚧️ Un día en el que conmemoramos a las increíbles personas trans que han sido asesinadas como resultado de la transfobia. El aumento de la legislación anti-LGBTQ+ y anti-transgénero en Estados Unidos ha hecho que los últimos años se encuentren entre los más mortíferos registrados para las personas transamericanas y transgénero en todo el mundo. Nos tomamos el día de hoy para llorarlos, reconocer la transfobia que ha perpetuado esta epidemia y comprometernos a luchar contra ella en nombre de las personas trans en todas partes. 💔🕯️🏳️⚧️
