New heights for Kuva! On a crisp, cold but sunny day yesterday in northern Alberta, our camera was successfully installed at 80' (26m) high, the tallest installation we've had to date. Thanks to the whole team involved who made this happen safely and securely so our #methane and VOC emissions camera can keep an eye on the tall tanks and flare for our customer. More musings from Methane Mitigation Summit Series' Methane Mitigation America conference, Day 2 in #Houston: ☝ “To (Methane) Fee or Not to (Methane) Fee, that is the question!” Chatter from the day included more consideration on the rumoured regulatory changes. If the #methane fee is retracted or not enforced, there could be a “wild west” of third party monitoring activity with cameras, drones or other tech without the regulatory oversight that the EPA would provide.  So the question becomes (with apologies to Shakespeare):  ✳️ “To Fee”:  EPA enforcing the #MethaneFee with their oversight on third party event reporting                   OR 🛑 “Not to Fee”: without the methane fee, does it run the risk of unregulated, untrained members of the public sending potentially unvalidated emissions findings to news outlets and publicizing on their own websites and social media? 📌 If you were an oil and gas operator, which would you prefer and why? 🚨TIP:  If you think your gas molecules will end up on a boat to Europe, plan for #MMRV by Jan 1, 2027 with measured intensity numbers, or nobody will be able to take your gas. 🚨🚨 BONUS TIP:  Kuva Systems is here to help. Day 1 at the Methane Mitigation Summit Series’ Methane Mitigation America conference in #Houston was abuzz with various stakeholders speculating on the market impact we’ll see with the new Trump administration. Some are predicting that even if there are regulatory changes where the Waste Emissions Charge is not enforced by the #EPA, there’s a possible risk of increased aerial monitoring and publication of a company’s emissions without the EPA’s oversight of verification or technology training currently associated with methane fee enforcement.
