Environmental due diligence is a critical component of the commercial real estate transaction process, and although emerging contaminants like #PFAS have historically been excluded from Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, ASTM E1527-21 now incorporates guidance for addressing PFAS. Environmental professionals must identify and report any releases or likely releases of these substances in Phase I ESAs, and further investigation may be required through a Phase II ESA. 🖱️ Join Kleinfelder National PFAS Lead Scott Grieco and East Division Site Assessment and Remediation Practice Leader Mark Steele, along with Erica Spitzig (Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP) for a free webinar on Wednesday, January 15 at 9am PST / noon EST that will cover: ✅ PFAS history, uses, health concerns, regulations, and potential sources of environmental contamination ✅ the evolving regulatory framework regarding PFAS and how current federal acts like CERCLA and RCRA can impact commercial transactions ✅ state-level actions and laws that can impact environmental due diligence and commercial transactions ✅ technical considerations for addressing PFAS in environmental due diligence within the context of Phase I and Phase II ESAs ✅ integrating PFAS data, considering evolving regulations and strategies for risk mitigation ▶️ Register here: https://lnkd.in/gEx5mRax #WeAreKleinfelder #PFAS #Webinar #FreeWebinar #Education #ProfessionalDevelopment #Environment #SiteDevelopment #Remediation #Regulations

Earlier this month, Kleinfelder Senior Technical Manager Zia Zafir, PhD, PE, GE presented to four separate civil engineering classes at the UC San Diego campus. Zia, who is also president of the Earthquake Engineering Research Institute Sacramento Chapter, was invited by UC San Diego professors Ahmed Elgamal and John McCartney. Over the course of two days, he presented to undergraduate and graduate students studying advanced #SoilMechanics, #EarthquakeEngineering, and other #engineering disciplines, as well as engaged in discussions with students about his experience in the industry. "I was quite impressed by the questions asked by the students," Zia noted. "They wanted to know how they can provide value to the industry and what the industry is looking for in the new generation of engineers. It was a very fulfilling experience." 💡 Interested in a #career in engineering or want to join a team that values educating the next generation? We have open positions spanning multiple disciplines across our 100 offices. 👉 Find your fit and apply today: https://bit.ly/42fsDg7 #WeAreKleinfelder #KleinfelderCareers #Leadership #Presentation #Education #SanDiego #Hiring
