A few days ago, I recorded a leadership podcast which followed up on my recent keynote address for the combined American Egg Board and United Egg Producers conference. It has me thinking again of all our country's egg farmers who have shown incredible resilience in a year of record-breaking losses of their flocks due to avian flu. While UEP president and CEO Chad Gregory and I joked about renaming my speech 🪴"Between 127 Ferns,"🪴 we also bonded over how, as leaders, sometimes we have to let go of the illusion of control, accept what is, and proceed through loss and grief in order to begin again. We noted too how the Egg Board's new campaign, "Meant to Be Broken," applies to people as much as eggs. By cracking ourselves open with adversity, we unlock the power within us. Accepting and even embracing trauma for the gifts it also brings is our path to becoming our most evolved selves. It's how we GROW! (like a fern?!) Thank you again, Chad, Veronica and your excellent team for bringing me to tell my story on stage. I'll share the podcast with Brandon Mulnix when it's released in the new year. Happy holidays ahead!
