Wear a piece of Dallas history with our limited edition Pegasus socks!
Real Dallasites know the significance of the Red Pegasus. One of the most recognizable symbols of our great city, the neon-lit sculpture nicknamed "the flying red horse" has kept watch over Dallas in one form or another for 90 years! The original site of the Pegasus, the Magnolia Building downtown, currently features a replica sculpture that was placed there in 2000 after the original had to be taken down due to structural issues. The original sculpture then went missing for 15 years, until hotel developer Matthew Southwest assembled a team to search for it, and eventually found it hidden away in a shed in White Rock Lake. The Pegasus has since been restored to its former glory, and our cherished city mascot currently lives on an oil derrick in front of the Omni Dallas Hotel. Now you can wear this classic symbol of Dallas pride with our limited edition Pegasus sock! There are only few pairs left of this special design, and they won't last long — if you're a Dallas native or just proud to call this city home, these socks will be a perfect addition to your wardrobe. Ken's has officially started its 60th year in business as of Monday, July 29th, 2024! This is a humbling milestone for myself, the entire Helfman clan, and the Ken's team of haberdashers. It all began with my father, Ken, who had been a manager at Parisian-Peyton's in Casa Linda from 1959 through 1963. After that he decided he wanted to try owning his own place, and we're so glad he did! Our 50th anniversary gala was one to remember, so to set our 60th year apart, we will have an entire Honor Year of celebrations! It all starts this month with a quick renovation inside the shop. This will elevate our checkout station, hospitality area, and custom housing, while improving the flow of the shop for easier browsing and socializing. We are also bringing in two new styles of Ken's socks, which will honor the shop and my father while giving back to a couple of our favorite charities. During the fall season we'll be having some anniversary events you can attend to help us celebrate, and we look forward to seeing you all! More activities and events will be announced throughout the year, so please stay tuned. Thank you all for being our loyal clientele, and for helping us reach this landmark anniversary!
