KTB is a network of dedicated Texans working together to make our state the best place to live, work and play.

About us

Keep Texas Beautiful (KTB) is a non-profit organization dedicated to making Texas the best place to live, work, and play by deploying resources for community improvement projects, clean-ups, and youth engagement efforts across the state. Through our Keep Texas Recycling program, we provide assistance and education to support recycling in rural and underserved communities. Everything we do is focused on mobilizing volunteers to take action by providing them with tools, resources, and training. Our fieldwork includes research on best practices for litter reduction along with the development of community programs to prevent the flow of litter to the Gulf. Founded in 1967, Keep Texas Beautiful’s work is driven by its network of nearly 300 affiliate member communities, volunteers, and supporters that reach 17 million Texans annually. • 📰 BREAKING NEWS: The Litter Grabber That Almost Took Center Stage! 🤠 Did you know? In a different timeline, the Litter Grabber could’ve been the official event of the 1968 Texas Rodeo Games! Read the full story below to find out how it almost became a legendary competition. 🏅💚 But while that rodeo showdown never happened, you can help us keep the litter grabber legacy alive — one piece of trash at a time. For just $60, you’ll get your own litter grabber AND help provide one to the next cohort of Young Texan Ambassadors. 💪 Link in bio! Join the cleanup! Let’s make Texas shine. 🌟 #KeepTexasBeautiful #LitterGrabberLegends #TexasCleanup #TrashWrangler 📢 Disclaimer: This “news” is purely for fun! The Litter Grabber Rodeo was never a real event, but you can make a real difference by supporting the cleanup with your donation. The Legend: In an alternate timeline, the litter grabber could have been the official sport of the 1968 Texas Rodeo Games. But what happened? Well, here's a little-known history of what almost went down… It all began with a fateful showdown between the top trash wranglers of the day. There were rumors that the first-ever "Litter Grabber Rodeo" would be held in the heart of Texas, where volunteers from across the state would compete for the title of “Top Trash Wrangler”. The prize? A golden litter grabber and eternal glory. 🏅💚 But, as with any great rodeo event, there was controversy. The litter grabber was too fast, too efficient — and, quite frankly, too powerful for the competition. Some say the sheer speed of trash pickup left spectators dizzy and speechless. Others argue that the grabber’s grip strength was just too strong for human hands to handle without the risk of injury to a well-intentioned volunteer. In the end, the idea was scrapped, and the event was cancelled… but the litter grabber remains a hero of the streets, cleaning up trash like a rodeo star wrangling wild bulls.

  • Update from Ingleside! 🏡💚 You know what’s exciting us today? A cement block. Yep, you read that right. But before you roll your eyes, let us explain why this cement block is a BIG deal. 🏗️👇 That “cement block” is actually a brand-new loading dock at the City of Ingleside, Texas Recycling Center! Thanks to a $22,000 grant from H-E-B, this upgrade was made possible, and we couldn’t be more excited. 🎉 This dock is going to help make it easier to haul even more recyclable material out of the landfill and into the recycling loop! ♻️💪 How much more? Check it out: ✅ 74,000 pounds of cardboard collected so far — that’s like 37 tons of save-the-planet goodness! 🏋️♀️ ✅ The Ingleside Garden Club has collected over 16,000 pounds of cardboard this year alone! 🙌🌱 A huge thank you to H-E-B for their continued support and for helping make recycling efforts in Texas more impactful. 💚 We’re just getting started, Ingleside! Keep those recyclables coming, and let’s keep working together to make our community even more sustainable. 🌿🌎 📍 Visit the Ingleside Recycling Center at 1580 Fourth Street to see all the great work being done! #RecyclingGoals #InglesideTX #HEBHelpingHere #HEB #BeautifyTexas #KeepTexasBeautiful #KeepTexasRecycling #SustainableCommunity #GreenTexas #CommunityStrong #WasteNot #KeepInglesideBeautiful

  • 🌟 Affiliate Spotlight! 🌟 We're thrilled to share this post from Keep Pearland Beautiful showcasing their amazing work with the Our Texas, Our Future Grant! 💚✨ 👇 Check out their story below: 👇 Garden Rehabilitation & School Recycling December update 🌱 We received The Our Texas, Our Future grant from Keep Texas Beautiful in partnership with H-E-B. With this grant, we were able to help Roger’s Middle School get their vegetable garden up and running and provide new recycling bins and bags to collect plastic bottles this school year. 🥬 Dawson High School has joined our bottle recycling program this semester. We would love for other Pearland Schools to join us in this recycling program alongside Rogers Middle School, Shadow Creek High School, and Alexander Middle School. 🏫 The Rogers Middle School garden is flourishing! Check out the amazing progress in both of the garden beds. We were able to donate more than 12 pounds of produce to @christianhelpinghands last week. #HEBHelpingHere #KeepTexasBeautiful #HEB #BeautifyTexas @HEB ( #📷 @kpbpearland )
