Art crime isn’t always about million-dollar masterpieces. Sometimes, it’s hundreds of smaller, forged works that add up. In this clip from Fed Time Stories, Randolph J. Deaton IV explains how teamwork—and the bravery of victims willing to speak up—were crucial to cracking a massive art forgery case. These weren’t just big-ticket items, but paintings targeted by forgers because of their value to everyday collectors. With hundreds of fakes to track down, Randy takes us behind the scenes of what it took to bring justice to this case. Catch the full episode of Fed Time Stories with hosts Dave Brant and John Gill for more insights into the world of art crime investigations.
