Journey21 is a living, learning and educational community for adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
About us
Journey21 Inc. is community for adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities (IDD) located on 12 acres in Oconomowoc, WI. Journey21 is the result of passionate and mission-driven families who came together in pursuit of building a community based in love and acceptance, dedicated to helping adults with IDD achieve their fullest potential and live their fullest lives. Our mission is to provide a safe, supportive and enriching living and learning community for adults with IDD. Our vision is day when every adult with IDD has the home of their choice where they can have friends, opportunities to grow, and live independently within a vibrant and inclusive community. Journey21 consists of four pillars: programs and outings, education and employment skill development, advocacy, and residential. Residences, Programs and Outings, and an Enrichment Center. We also offer a variety of unique programs, activities, and outings, which began in summer of 2021. Through these offerings participants explore vocational and educational interests and enjoy robust social options. Opened in April 2023, the Enrichment Center is a 10,000 square-foot space that serves as a venue for programs, classes, events and social gatherings for residents. Our community will eventually include a safe and inclusive neighborhood of high-quality supportive one-and two-bedroom condominiums with amenities that are designed for the needs and aspirations of adults with IDD. The residences will be situated around a common, pedestrian-oriented greenspace with vehicular traffic directed around the perimeter of the housing and the building fronts facing into the green space to promote engagement with neighbors.

Thank you to the Milwaukee Brewers and the grade folks at American family Field. Our Summer Academy students at Journey21 greatly enjoyed the behind-the-scenes tour of the ballpark. The Q&A session was particularly energizing at different points along the way. Lots of Brewers fans in the Journey21 clan! 💙💛 And special thanks to Waukesha State Bank for helping underwrite the cost of our transportation to AmFam Field!
