Not everyone has their “out of office” message up this time of year. We recognize all the professionals who are keeping others safe and healthy during the holiday season. Many of them are our clients. We support the emotional and #mentalhealth of healthcare workers year round. The more help that is available to them, the more they can help others.

A good way to support #healthcare workers who have to work over the holidays? Normalize their schedule rather than pitying it.

Burnout in healthcare is a personal, professional, and societal issue. ▪️The threat of burnout—exacerbated by increasing hours spent doing administrative tasks—can lead to chronic stress and mental health challenges for healthcare professionals. ▪️Burnout-related staffing turnover is estimated to cost over $9 billion for nurses and $2.6 to $6.3 billion for physicians per year. ▪️ When physicians leave the field prematurely due to burnout, social programs can suffer. Medicare, for example, invests almost $17.5 billion in physician residencies; when physicians prematurely leave the field, such an investment goes unfulfilled. At Marvin, we've made it our mission to support healthcare professionals with the mental health resources they need to support their patients. We support the reauthorization of the Dr. Lorna Breen Health Care Provider Protection Act before the end of the year.
