Thank you to The BAE HQ for putting ammi on its watchlist for British Asian founded companies! Your events and community has been invaluable, and always insightful! We at ammi are working tirelessly to expand the access to expertise and support that parents deserve. Your encouragement is greatly appreciated!
😍 BAE Watch: Ammi 😍 Here’s their story: After resigning from her last corporate role, Priyanka Mahajan joined Zinc VC’s 4th venture builder. While researching the problem of children’s mental health, she learned that nearly 1 in 3 new mothers experience poor mental health and their children are 5x more likely to grow up with mental health difficulties. Priyanka was reminded of her own experience as a new mum with no continuity of care and limited access to experts leading to feelings of anxiety, failure, and isolation. It's only gotten worse since. Public services remain a postcode lottery and private services are fragmented and expensive. Priyanka realised there was an opportunity to create more accessible, scalable solutions to reach a wider audience. ---- BAE Watch is where we feature up and coming British Asian founded companies that could be the next big thing! Thank you, Darya Kamkalova, for your vote of confidence! #femtech #parentech #healthandwellness #healthtech #fundraising #fundraisingtips

My first angel investment unveiled! 🥁 I have no children, and am hence cautious assessing startups developing products for parents. Can I examine their viability having no experience raising kids? My answer is yes, and this is why I am happy to share that I backed Ammi as an nano angel. It is a platform for expectant and new parents, providing them with evidence-based emotional support (pocket mental health coach) and affordable access to practical expertise. It is led by Priyanka Mahajan, based in the UK. Here’s why I decided to write that nano angel check. 🔥 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 Nearly 1 in 3 new mums in the UK suffer from poor mental health and their children are 5x more likely to experience the same. Lack of support is a leading risk factor and suicide is the leading cause of death for women in the UK in the first year after giving birth. Femtech is a $58bn market with pregnancy/postpartum being #1 segment. Health systems are over-stretched, the gap is glaring. 🔥 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 I was impressed with Priyanka’s grit, resourcefulness and inventiveness. A solo founder, she bootstrapped the development of the mental fitness tools and a built a high-fidelity prototype by herding a team of clinicians and technical experts who believe in her and the mission. Priyanka is a second-time entrepreneur, the founder member at Parenthood Ventures and a seasoned professional with an extensive experience in strategy and business development. 🔥 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁/𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 The solution combines a pocket mental health coach with proprietary evidence-based content and a marketplace of experts with network effects. I tested the prototype, and found it convincing. Ammi has 400+ subscribers with a 74NPS and has hosted 30+ online workshops with experts. 💜 And there’s something special about this deal. I am Ammi’s first investor. Do you know that awkward feeling of being the first to an empty dance floor? The music is playing but everyone is hesitant to start grooving until… that first person breaks the spell. And in no time it’s a whole crowd cheering, and dancing, and having fun. It’s exactly the same with investment rounds. For founders, the biggest hurdle is to convince the first investor because everyone is asking, ‘Who else is on board?’ In this case, I am. I never feel awkward to be the first one on that dance floor. 😎 💎 And if you are and investor and want to join the party, reach out directly to Priyanka. The music is playing. 💃🏽 #nanoangel #angelinvestment
