The historic Michigan Maple Block building in Petoskey, MI, is set to undergo a remarkable transformation thanks to a visionary redevelopment project headed by Great Lakes Capital and built by J. B. Donaldson Co. The 12-acre site will be repurposed into Maple Block Flats, a multi-family housing development featuring 204 units of affordable workforce housing. Supported by a $2 million loan and state tax capture from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, as well as previous grants for environmental remediation. This project aims to address Petoskey’s pressing need for housing while preserving the site's legacy.
