Today is the 8th Day of ITA #12DaysofChristmas Initiative, and we are looking back to August 2024 which was relatively calm! Young ITA was present in Singapore as a part of the Singapore Convention Week #SCWeek2024 with "Navigating Cultural Dynamics in International Dispute Resolution: Perspectives from the Asia Pacific Region". Aditya Singh (White & Case LLP), Mevelyn Ong (Norton Rose Fulbright), Young ITA Thought Leadership Co-Chair, Yating LIN, Young ITA Writing Competition 3rd place winner (The University of Hong Kong), Philip Tan, Young ITA Internal Communications Co-Chair, Earl Rivera - Dolera, Túlio Di Giacomo Toledo (Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA) discussed the historical and present day use of different dispute resolution methods (in particular, arbitration and mediation) in the Asia-Pacific region. The last #YoungITATalks of Summer 2024 took place in Mexico with gathering at Universidad Panamericana, Guadalajara campus, for an insightful discussion on the challenges of international arbitration. Special thanks to Cecilia Flores Rueda, FCIArb, and Edgardo Muñoz for sharing their expertise on key topics such as selecting the presiding arbitrator, managing deliberations, and the nature of dissenting opinions. With the excellent moderation by Luis Eduardo de la Torre, the event fostered a deep and reflective debate that left all attendees with fresh perspectives on arbitral practice. We thank all the participants and organizers, as well as Young ITA Mexico co-chair Eduardo Lobatón G. (Hogan Lovells) for making this event successful!
