  • Let’s celebrate the traditions of the people around us with knowledge! * Kwanzaa was created to offer African Americans a way to reconnect with their roots and celebrate their cultural heritage, especially after centuries of oppression and displacement. It aims to foster pride, strengthen family bonds, and encourage community and social responsibility. * Often, Kwanzaa is celebrated by lighting the Kinara and gathering with friends and family for food, gifts, and stories. 🎁 * However, you celebrate, we wish you a Happy Kwanzaa. * #IredellReady #HappyKwanzaa

  • #DYK, the tradition of Christmas trees started around the 16th century!?😲 * Long before Christmas, people in ancient cultures, such as the Romans, Egyptians, and Druids, used evergreen plants like holly, ivy, and fir trees to decorate their homes during the winter solstice, symbolizing life and rebirth during the darkest time of the year. * Merry Christmas to all! ✨🎄 * #iredellready #MerryChristmas

  • Happy first night of Hanukkah! For those who don’t know, let's learn together. * Hanukkah or (Chanukah) commemorates the victory of the Jewish Maccabees over the Seleucid Empire, which had banned Jewish religious practices and desecrated the Temple. After reclaiming the Temple, only a small amount of oil was found to light the menorah. Miraculously, the oil lasted for eight days, long enough to prepare more consecrated oil. * Now, Hanukkah is celebrated by lighting the menorah every night for 8 nights, eating foods fried in oil, like latkes (potato pancakes) and sufganiyot (jelly-filled doughnuts), and exchanging small gifts. * #iredellready #HappyHanukkah
