🚀 Exciting progress toward lunar exploration! Today, NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration completed the first round of human-in-the-loop testing for the Intuitive Machines Moon RACER lunar terrain vehicle (LTV) at Johnson Space Center. 🌖 Moon RACER is one of three commercially owned and developed unpressurized LTVs under consideration for NASA’s Artemis campaign. If selected, Moon RACER will remain under Intuitive Machines' ownership, enabling remote operations between Artemis missions for up to 10 years. This groundbreaking approach will pave the way for continuous commercial scientific discovery and long-term human space exploration—even when no crew is on the Moon. Here’s to advancing innovation and building a sustainable future on the lunar surface! 🌌 #Artemis #SpaceExploration #LunarInnovation #NASA #SpaceTech

Intuitive Machines was over the Moon to join our friends at Houston Airport System for the unveiling of an upgraded International Arrivals Curb at George Bush Intercontinental Airport. With six lanes, it’s more than wide enough to accommodate our Moon RACER lunar terrain vehicle. "Houston’s identity as Space City is built on a foundation of innovation, connectivity and bold ambitions," said Jack Fischer, Intuitive Machines vice president and former NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration astronaut. "As Intuitive Machines competes in humankind’s next space race, through NASA’s lunar terrain vehicle contract, having seamless global connections is critical not just for our team but for the growing network of aerospace companies in Houston. This terminal is more than an infrastructure project; it’s a gateway to the future of exploration, innovation and discovery." https://lnkd.in/gzb8rPm4 #Space #Innovation #Moon #AdLunam

Intuitive Machines unveiled the Moon RACER lunar terrain vehicle (LTV) at Space Center Houston on Thursday, November 7. RACER, an acronym for Reusable Autonomous Crewed Exploration Rover, accommodates two astronauts and some 400 kg (882 lbs.) of cargo. The LTV has a rechargeable electric battery, a robotic arm and is designed to pull a trailer loaded with an additional 800 kg (1,764 lbs.). Driven on the left or right side or controlled remotely from Earth, RACER was developed for NASA’s Artemis campaign and is one of three LTVs under consideration. Artemis astronauts may use the LTV to travel the lunar surface, conducting scientific research and preparing for human missions to Mars. Between Artemis missions, when crews are not on the Moon, Intuitive Machines may operate the LTV remotely to support commercial scientific discovery and long-term human space exploration. The Intuitive Machines Moon RACER was engineered in partnership with Atlas Devices, LLC, AVL in North America, Barrios Technology, LTD, Boeing, CSIRO, Fugro, Michelin, Northrop Grumman and Roush. #spacetravel #moon #NASA #AdLunam
