Innovative Forensic Investigations reposted this
Reflecting on an Incredible 2024! A Year of Learning, Teaching, and Collaboration As the year comes to a close, we are excited to share some highlights from what has been a truly busy and rewarding year at MacNeil Investigations & Forensic Consulting. We are deeply grateful for the opportunities we’ve had to connect with so many outstanding professionals, teach the next generation of investigators, and share knowledge in arenas that push the field of forensic science and investigations forward. 📌 In February, It was an honor to speak at the University of Wilmington True Crime Series, joining the arena with incredible speakers like Joe Pistone (aka Donnie Brasco) and other renowned FBI agents and law enforcement leaders. Special thanks to Scott Duffey and Ray Carr, the institute's dedicated directors. 📌 In April, I had the privilege of presenting at the Pennsylvania Homicide Investigators Association Conference, sharing the stage with exceptional homicide investigators like Tom McAndrew, Shawn Williams, and Todd Giliberto. Additionally, at the National Association of Licensed Investigators Conference at Northeastern University with great investigators. 📌 August brought another career milestone, presenting on blast injuries at the Illinois Coroner and Medical Examiners Association Conference. It was humbling to share the stage with renowned professionals such as Andrea Zaferes, Dr. Lawrence Simon, and Illinois State Coroner Lynne Reed. 📌 Very humbling to be featured on the "Cold Red" podcast, hosted by retired FBI agents James Fitzgerald and Raymond Carr. Discussing forensic investigations with such legends in the field was an absolute honor. 📌 Along with Retired Chief Kevin Kennedy, we conducted two ten-day Detective Training Schools for the Northeast Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council and taught multiple five-day crime scene classes across New England, Pennsylvania, New York, and New Jersey. Hearing from students who later became lead investigators in high-profile national incidents and credited our training as instrumental was a highlight of the year. 📌 In October, it was an honor to receive an award from the Vidocq Society at their annual banquet. This recognition from such a prestigious organization means the world to me. Ø Speaking at the Delaware State Police Hometown Security Conference in Rehoboth Beach was a fantastic experience with some truly great people. Looking ahead to 2025, we are gearing up for an even bigger year with new classes already scheduled in New York, New Jersey, and Massachusetts. We will definitely be calling on Cold Case Units nationwide to assist in your cases from start to finish! Meeting and working with so many specialists from cold case detectives to lab personnel at many conferences and events this year was great! Thank you to everyone who made this year so special. Your support, collaboration, and dedication inspire us every day. Keep an eye out for upcoming events, trainings and cases in 2025!
