Health and Human Services
We Gather to anticipate and shape the future of human-centered clinical trial services and technologies.
About us
Gather people in order to anticipate and shape the future of human-centered clinical trial services and technologies We are all more aware of the need for human-centric clinical research. Call it patient-centric or participant-centric – the human is at the center. The sector is changing, and we need digitally competent trials to keep up with that change. We can bring people together and amplify thought leaders to anticipate and shape the future of human centered clinical research services and technology.

Stop, Collaborate, and Listen. 👊 Why do great ideas fail? Having launched new products myself (six out of seven worked—early failure teaches the most!) and now reviewing 2,000 startups a year at HealthX Ventures, I have some thoughts on this, which I shared with the Innovation Network Gathering. While the examples in this particular talk are about clinical research efficiencies, the principles apply everywhere. Watch here: https://lnkd.in/ghpvBkWG Key takeaways (spoiler alert): 1. Understanding the PROBLEM is critical. You cannot overlook this or oversimplify it. What problem are you actually focused on solving and for whom? What are the intricacies of it? One company with $16B in revenue even got this wrong, which led to its demise. 2. De-risk ideas by listening to many more people than you’d think. Don’t fall into the trap that YOU know it all. Myopia and oversimplification leave too many companies with potential to miss building a full solution that actually solves the problem. You or your internal SMEs can’t answer it all. Get real input from buyers, influencers, and importantly USERS who are not the buyers. Then you will be sufficiently informed and can decide what to do about the input. 3. There is risk in taking no risk. This applies to customers, to start-ups, and investors. Calculated risks (with knowledge of points 1 and 2) can actually help you avoid failure and drive faster success. Shout out to Jeff Smith and Michelle D. Jones for putting on such a high quality, engaging, inspiring event and for thoughtful support that leaves anyone for the better. Shout out to Bo Lora from AWS who has equal passion about defining the problem. Thank you Brad Hightower for being the brave soul that shares the hard truth for the good of clinical research, and Bill Illis at Novartis and TransCelerate BioPharma Inc. for laying the groundwork for integration standards that have promise to enable smoother collaboration across clinical research sites and sponsors. As we continue navigating the complexities of innovation—be it in clinical research or any other field—let’s remember that success is built on a clear understanding of the problem, a willingness to learn from diverse perspectives, and a commitment to true collaboration.
