On the 7th of June, we participated in the SDL4NEETs International Conference: “Self-directed Learning Paths”, held in Rõuge, Estonia. This conference was part of the Erasmus+ project: "Self-directed Learning Competencies for NEET Youth". It marked a beautiful culmination of all the activities undertaken within the project, with the main goal of empowering NEET youth to find their path in today's world and strive bravely towards their dream lives. At the conference, we reviewed the project process and were honored to hear insights from field experts. Kerli Kõiv spoke about the self-directed learning competencies of NEET youth. Mustafa Erdoğan from Deneyimsel Eğitim Merkezi facilitated a fun and educational presentation on experiential learning in self-directed learning. At the same time, Jovan Stalevski from CEFE Macedonia discussed self-directed learning in entrepreneurship, and Abraham Azzopardi spoke about the potential of international experiences. In contrast, Vesna Matić discussed navigating mental health in our learning paths. The conference highlights included two-panel discussions: one with young participants from Malta, North Macedonia, Estonia, and Turkey, and another with their mentors who guided them through the mentoring process. They shared their experiences as part of the project and discussed their personal growth progress. We extend a heartfelt thank you to the conference organizers, our partners, and colleagues. Most importantly, we thank the brave young participants from Estonia, Türkiye, North Macedonia, and Malta, who embarked on this journey with us and worked hard to achieve their goals.
