"Powering a Sustainable Future" by facilitating the development and innovation of power electronics technology
About us
The Power Electronics Society (PELS) is one of the fastest-growing technical societies of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). For over 35 years, PELS has facilitated and guided the development and innovation of power electronics technology. This technology encompasses the effective use of electronic components, the application of circuit theory and design techniques, and the development of analytical tools toward efficient conversion, control, and condition of electric power. Our members include preeminent researchers, practitioners, and distinguished award winners. PELS also publishes the IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, a top-referenced journal among all IEEE publications. PELS is dedicated to:1) Upholding the vital scientific and educational aspects of power electronics and its applications.2) Keeping its members around the globe up to date on state-of-the-art technological developments and advances in power electronics research. In striving to build knowledge and awareness of the latest technologies and other advances in power electronics, PELS's goal is to keep members current and competitive in the workplace and provide them with the tools necessary to help them grow both personally and professionally. We invite you to join us and benefit from a world of invaluable information and support.

🌟 Introducing the PELS AI-Powered Article Search! 🌟 PELS is excited to unveil our pilot project on article search, a new AI-powered search tool. With the rapid growth of PELS publications, locating the right paper can be challenging. Powered by vector-based search technology, this tool understands the meaning behind words, making it easier to find papers. Currently, the search results cover two years of articles from IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics (TPEL). Simply type a rough description of a potential paper title or combine concepts, and let the AI guide you to the most relevant results — it’s a smarter way to search. For tips on getting the most out of the tool, check out the how-to guide on the page. Whether you’re exploring converter efficiency, emerging materials, or control strategies, this tool is here to support the PELS community and beyond.
