For the first time since 1990, downtown Clayton has seen a significant growth in hotel supply, with two hotels opening in just the last 18 months. The Residence Inn by Marriott opened in March of 2023, featuring 170 extended-stay suites, a lobby bar, and 3,700 square-feet of meeting space, and the AC Hotel by Marriott, which features 207 guestrooms, a restaurant, a rooftop bar, and 5,000 square-feet of meeting space, opened in October 2024. These upscale properties are a compliment to this urban neighborhood, which includes several high-end restaurants, luxurious apartment buildings, and Class A office buildings. Both hotels include a blend of business and leisure amenities and are poised to attract diverse clientele, further enhancing Clayton's appeal as a vibrant destination.

The University of Central Florida marked the groundbreaking of Roth Tower, a transformative project at FBC Mortgage Stadium and a key component of its Mission XII Initiative. Set to open in Fall 2026, the tower will enable UCF to host major intercollegiate competitions and boost sports tourism. The new tower highlights the region’s ongoing investment and growth. It was made possible by a $90 million commitment from the Orange County Board of County Commissioners through Tourist Development Tax revenues. The tower is a pivotal addition to the Kenneth G.
