📣 Major shifts are happening in HVAC refrigerants! Keep up with the HFC phasedown and what it means for R-410A. Here are some important takeaways for #insurance professionals: • Policyholders with equipment that uses R-22 and R-410A can keep using their HVAC and refrigerant systems and don’t need to replace them. • Failed HVAC equipment that uses these refrigerants can still be repaired. • Reclaimed R-22 is still available for use, and R-410A is still being manufactured at a reduced scale. • A2L refrigerants are not interchangeable with R-22 or R-410A systems. Major repairs with equipment that uses different refrigerants will cause a mismatch, possibly requiring a full replacement if no other repair options exist.
