🌟Meet Kristen Watkins, one of Hutto ISD’s @USdepartmentofLabor Teacher Apprentices working in the BaSE program at Hutto High School. Kristen’s journey was inspired by her biggest supporter—her mom—who encouraged her to take this life-changing step. Kristen shared: "I want to be the teacher that her students know they matter to her and watch my students grow and thrive." Through the apprenticeship program, Kristen has developed a deep sense of compassion, drive, and perseverance while building meaningful relationships with her students.🏫✨ This experience has also given Kristen a newfound confidence as she continues to balance her work in the classroom and her college journey. Here's why Bonnie joined the program: "I felt the experience I would gain from the program would be invaluable and provide me with a solid foundation to start my teaching career." Bonnie is passionate about creating a positive, welcoming classroom environment where all students feel safe to express themselves and confident in their learning. She’s learning essential skills like differentiating lessons to meet diverse needs, the importance of teamwork, and how to reflect and grow as an educator. I figured with the apprenticeship program I can get the most out of the two."
