Last year, Dr. David Morgenroth and Team published: "The development of rating scales to evaluate experiential prosthetic foot preference for people with lower limb amputation" in PM&R, The Journal of Injury, Function and Rehabilitation.🏆 This was a major milestone in the development of test-drive strategies, because now we have a validated instrument for comparing preference across an array of devices that can be used with the prosthetic foot emulator and beyond. 🎉 Congratulations to Dr. David Morgenroth and co-authors including: Talia Ruxin, BA Elizabeth Halsne, PhD, CPO, MS Brian J. Hafner, PhD - University of Washington Jane Shofer, MS - VA PUGET SOUND HEALTH CARE SYSTEM Andrew Hansen, PhD W. Lee Childers, PhD Josh Caputo, PhD 👏 This recognition highlights the incredible work this team is doing to empower individuals with limb loss and redefine rehabilitation. High-performance robotic prostheses and exoskeletons for research, development, rehabilitation, and evaluation.
About us
High-performance robotic prostheses and exoskeletons for research, development, rehabilitation, and evaluation. Humotech’s Caplex™ system gives you the freedom to explore, experiment, and innovate with less risk and shorter development time. With Caplex, you test your ideas first, then build. Caplex is a programmable, high-performance system that lets you emulate the real-world physical characteristics of the device or concept you’re evaluating. Unlike a simulation, the user has the physical sensation of wearing different assistive devices (or device modes) while using just one device; they don’t have to switch devices. The devices are lightweight and wearable, because our powerful (and heavy) robotic components are located off-board; users don’t have to carry bulky prototype hardware while they’re testing the device.

🔧 New Patent Alert! Humotech has been granted a new patent pertaining to its ankle exoskeleton systems. 🤖 Two embodiments are described, one incorporating bi-directional ankle torque control (plantarflexion and dorsiflexion), and one incorporating an unhinged midsole insert that enables seamless exo & shoe integration. The devices within are early prototypes whose features were folded into our EXO-010. This innovation is foundational to our latest generation of emulation research & development, enabling #Caplex to mimic the mechanical characteristics of ankle foot orthotics.
