We’ve got some exciting news about the upcoming Huladay Market – we’ve partnered with Darn Tough Vermont® to make holiday shopping even more meaningful. Introducing TOASTY TOES sock drive! Here’s the deal: when you shop with one of the 60+ Vermont-based vendors at Huladay, every $50 you spend equals a pair of Darn Tough socks will be donated to COTS. These socks will go directly to those who need them most, keeping them warm all winter long. Why is this sock drive different? Well, hugely because Darn Tough Vermont® rocks. Their story is rooted in the same entrepreneurial spirit we celebrate at Hula – built on hard work, risk-taking, and a commitment to quality. They’ve kept their manufacturing in Vermont, hired Vermonters, and transformed their industry, all while staying true to their values. On top of that, when you shop at Huladay, you’re directly supporting small businesses in Vermont. Your purchase could make a huge impact on a local entrepreneur – because shopping locally doesn’t just spread holiday cheer, it helps grow our community. Then, to really seal the deal, your $50 (or more) will help get high-quality socks to folks in our community who are experiencing homelessness. COTS has been working with Vermonters in need of shelter since 1982, and has provided support in immeasurable ways.   Here’s how to get involved: spend $50 with a vendor at Huladay and you’ll get a coupon featuring a Darn Tough sock. Drop your coupon off at the Hula front desk on your way out, and we’ll make sure a pair of socks gets donated. Shop local. Give back. Keep toes toasty. We hope to see you tomorrow at Huladay! We’re getting so close to one of our favorite events of the year—yes, we’ll admit it, we’re a little biased… It’s the 2024 Huladay Market! Hula’s metaphorical love letter, ode, ballad (heck, even sonnet) to entrepreneurs and small businesses in the artistic world. Huladay is our way of honoring the vibrant history of makers and creators in Burlington’s South End Innovation District—and celebrating incredible makers from beyond Burlington too. If you follow us over on Instagram at @hula_events, you’ve probably seen some of our vendor announcements (and if you don’t follow us… what are you waiting for?). After you hit that follow button, check out our recent posts to see some of the talented creators we’ll be hosting on December 17th. With over 60 local Vermont vendors showcasing their artistry, you're bound to find the gifts you're looking for. Better yet, you're supporting local businesses in the process. The Huladay Market is free to attend, but we highly recommend RSVPing—because a little post-event surprise for RSVPers awaits. So, grab your friends, fam, kids, grands—basically anyone with a gift list—and join us for an evening of art, shopping, and community. RSVP here: https://lnkd.in/eHNMq5zB

This annual market is filled with creative and talented local artists and entrepreneurs. With everything happening in the world, it feels important to dive headfirst into the community that surrounds us, and this is just the place to do it! Huladay Market is a special ode to the Artists & Maker Community that has been cultivated at the heart of the South End. This year Huladay will showcase over 60 talented local artists, makers, and entrepreneurs. The event supports the growth of emerging small businesses while offering an easy way to connect with friends, family, and the community- something we could all use a little more of right now.  As always, this event is free and open to the public. There will be live music, food and drink to enjoy while shopping. We invite you to come together and join us to support Vermont's lively and dynamic community of creators while we boost our spirits. The Show Her The Money film premiere is tomorrow and we cannot wait to learn more about the power of women in Venture Capital. Here are few things we’re noticing as we keep an eye on ticket sales: 1.      Ticket sales have been steadily climbing- obviously, we love to see that. 2.      Everyone loves a last-minute plan these days, so no worries if you haven’t bought a ticket yet. 3.      Here's the biggie. We're noticing a trend in who is buying tickets... Any guesses? We'll give you a hint- the folks who are affected by the funding disparities seem to be the ones showing up...   So here's what we need everyone else to do. Start by showing up! Do it for the women and other underrepresented communities in this industry. The more you know about a specific topic, the more you can do to help be a part of the change. Get your tickets here: https://lnkd.in/e4QTWJdW   Fun and exciting side note- Show Her the Money made the U.S. News list of "11 Best Finance Movies of the Last Decade". Read the article here: https://lnkd.in/gdZzi4S A very special thank you to the sponsors of this event: Acrisure, JHCapital, Wells Fargo, Dennise Casey & Neale Lunderville, Flexible Capital Fund, Northern New England Women's Investors Network, and the Onda Foundation.

The moment we've been so eagerly waiting to share with everyone is finally here! Hula is collaborating with the Vermont Women's Fund, and The Vermont Community Foundation to present Vermont's premier film screening of Show Her The Money! This film demystifies venture capital and explores how women receive less than 2% of venture capital funding. Featuring rock-star female investors who invest in diverse female entrepreneurs with innovations that will change the world, Show Her The Money reminds us that money is power and women need it to achieve true equality. Empowering female founders means the world won’t miss out on groundbreaking innovations, diverse perspectives, and solutions that can reshape industries and communities. Investing in women isn’t just about fairness—it’s about fueling economic growth and fostering innovation. While we invite you to enjoy an inspiring movie, our bigger hope is that you’ll leave with a deeper understanding of how investing in women changes the future of our economy. Join us at Hula on October 30th from 6-9PM for the film screening, followed by a conversation with film Producer Catherine Gray, moderated by Janice St. Onge (she/her), President, Flexible Capital Fund A special thank you to the generous event sponsors: Acrisure, JHCapital, Wells Fargo, Dennise Casey & Neale Lunderville, Flexible Capital Fund, Northern New England Women's Investor's Network, and the Onda Foundation. Tickets available via link today: https://lnkd.in/ef8sKE_x

Last week, we hosted the Exit Five Conference, Drive, and wow—a time was had. This event quite literally made our team say, "we wish we could do 100 of these a year." It was a breath of fresh air to see down-to-earth industry pros share practical, real-life techniques instead of the usual hypotheticals or dry theories. The speakers brought their A-game, and it wasn’t your standard conference fare. They had us laughing, learning, and fully engaged the whole time. This crowd was on fire. In a group this large, you can feel the energy, and it was electric. For many, it was their first time connecting in person, and the excitement was palpable. We feel incredibly lucky to have witnessed this kind of magic. The best part? The event was such a hit, they've already scheduled 2025. And seriously, if you're a marketing person this would be the conference to go to. Stay tuned for more! Dave Gerhardt- huge shoutout to the Exit Five Team for being easy-breezy and organized, we can't wait to have you all back. Photo Credit: Braedon Fox Media LLC https://lnkd.in/gPUunvt2
