AGGIELAND AUTHENTIC.   Coming Soon to serve student life at Texas A&M University, will rise Landing at College Station. This new Student Housing development will uniquely speak to the history of College Station but told in new & exciting ways. From the bold entrance to the communal lounges, from pocket study spaces to the expansive fitness center; students will revel in modern amenities interwoven with the authentic spirit of Aggieland.   Do you know the history of the official Aggies mascot? In April of 1871, Texas Legislature established the Agricultural and Mechanical (A&M) College of Texas. The college began instruction with 40 students and six faculty members, and all students were required to participate in Corps of Cadets military training. Legend has it that when a bugler blew the morning “Reveille” to wake cadets, a solitary dog began barking, earning her name.
