  • The Fernandez Center at Loyola University in Baltimore, Maryland is a vibrant new hub for students and faculty. Our landscape architecture team brought this project to life with a dynamic plaza, outdoor classroom, gathering spaces, and seamless pedestrian connections. With native plants, sustainable rainwater strategies, and new trees, this Level II arboretum is thriving! A large red maple anchors the plaza, while thoughtful design links the campus quad, walkways, and community. 🌳 #LandscapeArchitecture #CampusDesign https://lnkd.in/eHFFnnD4

  • The new addition of the Louis and Phyllis Friedman Building at Greater Baltimore Medical Center that opened this year features a light-filled, three-story atrium to welcome and offer natural wayfinding to visitors. The space is home to wellness areas, a medical library, a kosher pantry, and a healing garden, all designed with patients, families, and caregivers in mind. Two clinical floors provide state-of-the-art, patient-centered care, combining modern design with a focus on wellness and connection. https://lnkd.in/e9JJ5BwX

  • Reimagining community, together! 'One Eastport for All' is a transformative plan to create a vibrant, mixed-income neighborhood in Annapolis. 1,100 individuals participated in the community planning sessions over two years, including existing public housing residents, neighbors, advocates, and city stakeholders. The new neighborhood will be served by an early learning center, retail, a fitness center, tenant space for social services and heath care providers, a variety of residential amenities, as well as multiple parks and public open spaces. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/eReDaQWD #AffordableHousing

  • In order to stay up to date with the latest educational methods and address the needs of a growing student body, our higher education team developed a feasibility study to establish the scope, program, and cost of a renovation at the University of Maryland School of Nursing. Following the study, the team was also selected to design the new space. Take a look at how an augmented/virtual reality Lab and a Simulation Hospital Suite were incorporated into the design: https://lnkd.in/edi6XvFf

  • 🎉 As the year winds down, we’re taking a moment to reflect on some of the highlights that made 2024 so memorable. Over the next few days, we’ll revisit big news, exciting projects, and moments that left an impression. Join us as we take a look back! We were honored to design one of the first mixed-use buildings for the new Baltimore Peninsula neighborhood: Rye House. Rye House is made up of two, eight-story masonry volumes connected by a glass and steel bridge. The steel detailing nods to the site’s industrial past and is featured throughout the design in this walkable, urban community. Discover this awesome new neighborhood: https://lnkd.in/e7Wt6P6j

  • More than 20% of all office space in the United States is currently vacant, with some cities experiencing even higher rates. At the same time, there is a growing need for senior living developments in urban environments as more seniors have embraced a city lifestyle that prioritizes walkability and proximity to amenities. Senior Living Principal Christian Fussy explores how repurposing underperforming office buildings into vibrant senior living communities can address both of these issues in his guest column for McKnights Senior Living. • The Wren in DC's Shaw District is a blend of historic inspiration and modern design. This U-shaped residential building reimagines the steel frame and masonry industrial style of the neighborhood with prismatic glass bays and a tri-story frame that harmonize with the surrounding cityscape. Its landscaped courtyard, rooftop pool, and bridge lounge create a serene urban retreat, offering sweeping views of the Washington Monument and Capitol. https://lnkd.in/eNUB-kpq
