In 2023, Fred was working as a school teacher and owned a commercial cleaning business, until he and his brother were rear-ended while heading home from work. 💙 Fred had to go on Medicaid and undergo hours of intensive physical therapy and rehabilitation, while simultaneously navigating housing instability due to job loss and the loss of his business. After being out of work for over a year, Fred was connected to Home for Families. 💙 Our team provided him essential support and assistance, covering his rent and utilities, ensuring that he could focus on recovery and new career goals without the fear of losing his housing amid his financial distress. Supporting Fred and families in similar situations is at the heart of what we do every day. We're thrilled to be participating in a Combined Federal Campaign charity fair on Tuesday, December 17th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Chalmers P. Wylie Veterans Outpatient Clinic, 420 N. James Rd. in Columbus. ✨ The Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) gives Federal employees and retirees the chance to come together to raise money and volunteer for their favorite charities. 💖 We are grateful to be a participating charity and have the opportunity to receive support for vital programs and services that empower Franklin County families challenged with housing instability.
