We make independent living possible through exceptional home care solutions.
About us
Homebridge was founded in 1985 by a group of non-profit community-based organizations who wanted to improve the delivery of IHSS services in San Francisco. These organizations included Independent Living Resource Center, Self-Help for the Elderly, Mission Neighborhood Centers, Kimochi, Inc., Bayview-Hunters Point Multipurpose Senior Services Center, and Catholic Charities. Over time, we evolved to become one agency while retaining deep relationships with our partners in service. In March 2015, we changed our name from In-Home Supportive Services Consortium to Homebridge. Throughout our history, Homebridge has developed and refined an approach to home care that combines client services, extensive training and supervision of caregivers, and coordination with other public and private organizations to provide the services needed for clients to continue living independently at home. Our integrated approach has resulted in steady and significant organizational growth, fueled by growing public and private support.

November is National Family Caregivers Month—a time to honor the strength, patience, and dedication of caregivers everywhere. 💙 At Homebridge, we celebrate stories like this mother’s journey of caring for her son with autism. Her powerful message reminds us that competency looks different for everyone. By embracing each individual’s unique strengths, caregivers help them thrive. Let’s celebrate the compassion and adaptability that define caregivers this month and every month. https://lnkd.in/gfvmjZwh #FamilyCaregiversMonth

Two weeks ago, we marked the formal end of the IHSS Career Pathways Program, a bittersweet moment for all of us. Yesterday, our incredible Career Pathways team came together to commemorate the journey in true team fashion—by throwing a “funeral” ⚱️ for the program, filled with laughter 😂 and celebration 🎉. This lighthearted send-off was a perfect reflection of the joy and camaraderie that has defined our team’s culture. 🙌 For many of us, the chance to support California’s dedicated caregivers was not just a job but the highlight of our careers. In just two years, this team achieved remarkable milestones: ✔️ 75,548 providers from all 58 counties across California completed at least one training with Homebridge. ✔️ We successfully organized 18,538 live-online and in-person training sessions. ✔️ An astounding 56,284 support tickets were answered between January 2023 and July 2024. ✔️ Our online community has grown to 14,814 providers and counting. ✔️ 69,000 learners completed an incredible 2.5 million self-paced courses. The impact of this program is nothing short of extraordinary ✨, and each member of this team played a key role in making it possible. Here’s to the memories we’ve created and the lasting legacy of the IHSS Career Pathways Program! 🥂❤️
