During the seminar, industry experts shared invaluable insights ranging from housing options to insurance product types, offering useful information to talent settling smoothly in the city. Guide to Hong Kong’s Residential Leasing Market: Ms Hilda Lai, Deputy General Manager (Leasing Department) and Ms Connie Ko, Manager (Leasing Department) at Sino Group commenced the session with an overview of Hong Kong’s residential leasing landscape, including key aspects such as the leasing process, costs and the significance of considering school network while making housing decisions. Additionally, Ms KK Chen at Sino Group offered practical advice by sharing her personal journey of moving to Hong Kong. Hong Kong Talent Engage (HKTE) participated in the Second (GBA) Hong Kong Schools Expo and the Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui Education Expo last week, which have concluded with great success. As a designated partner, HKTE aims to provide information about Hong Kong education and enhance educational support for the children of incoming talent in Hong Kong. Mr Anthony Lau, Director of HKTE, attended both events to engage with parents, understanding their enquiries and needs. During the events, HKTE set up booths to introduce our support services and offer consultation services, engaging with over 1,000 talent and addressing their enquiries about Hong Kong education, including the education system and school admission procedures. Hong Kong Talent Engage (HKTE) was delighted to participate in the 2024 Hong Kong International Talents Summit as the Official Strategic Supporting Organisation. Now in its fourth year, the summit aimed to further strengthen Hong Kong’s position as a global talent hub while driving long-term prosperity for the city, the Greater Bay Area, and the nation. This year’s event welcomed guests and participants, including international and Mainland leaders from political, academic, business and other sectors. Mr Chan Kwok-ki, Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr Chris Sun, Secretary for Labour and Welfare and Mr Anthony Lau, Director of HKTE showed support to the event. Mr Chan and Mr Chris Sun each delivered opening remarks at the event, setting the stage for a summit that provided a vital platform to exchange ideas on global talent competition and talent development. Mr Chan highlighted that Hong Kong has received nearly 420,000 talent applications since the end of 2022, and about 175,000 people of talent and their families have chosen to call Hong Kong home with their families, contributing to the city’s economy and vibrancy. Following the opening speeches, guests and participants engaged in roundtable discussions and insightful exchanges on topics such as the impact of generative AI on global talent, the talent development between Hong Kong and the Hainan Free Trade Zone, and the development of new productive forces. Hong Kong Talent Engage (HKTE) recently travelled to Berlin and Munich, where HKTE Director Mr Anthony Lau visited to an eligible university, and met with student and business associations to foster partnership. Mr Lau made his first stop at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin to promote Hong Kong as an international talent hub for high-caliber talent, introduce HKTE’s support services, and explore collaboration opportunities to connect with their students, graduates, and alumni. HKTE then successfully hosted three “Hong Kong: A World of Opportunities” engagement events — one in Berlin and two in Munich, providing students and alumni from eligible universities with insights into Hong Kong’s talent admission schemes and career prospects. Mr Matt Hu, President of the Hong Kong Science and Technology Youth Federation, was also invited as guest speaker to share insights on Hong Kong’s startups and AI landscape. Mr Lau also engaged with the OAV - German Asia-Pacific Business Association – Young Leaders Chapter and several prominent student associations, including Young Founders Network e.V., E-Lab AI by TUM.ai, IKOM – Technical University of Munich and the Associations of Chinese Students and Scholars in Berlin and Munich. These discussions focused on fostering on-going collaborations and promoting Hong Kong’s diverse talent initiatives. Additionally, the delegation attended the AsiaBerlin Summit, a flagship event officiated by the Governing Mayor of Berlin, where they connected with startups and entrepreneurs. Hong Kong Talent Engage (HKTE) actively collaborates with the education sector to provide information about education in Hong Kong to incoming talent to assist their dependant children in attending schools and further studies in Hong Kong. HKTE will participate in two education expos next week which feature nearly 450 local kindergartens, primary schools and secondary schools by setting up booths to introduce its support services and offer consultation services. HKTE is proud to support and participate in the Greater Bay Area Hong Kong Schools Expo, taking place from 13 to 15 December. This event brings together nearly 300 private, aided and Direct Subsidy Scheme schools to display Hong Kong’s high educational standards and distinctive features. Education experts will share insights on selecting schools and address common misconceptions in applying for admission to schools, while a number of schools will also conduct on-site admission interviews and assessments for prospective students, making it a comprehensive platform for talent to learn about the strengths of Hong Kong's education system, and prepare for their children’s future school life. Concurrently, HKTE is also pleased to support and participate in the Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui (HKSKH) Education Expo from 14 to 15 December. The expo will showcase over 140 kindergartens, primary schools and secondary schools of HKSKH. Talent will have the opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge of different HKSKH schools and their unique attributes. Participants can also interact directly with school representatives to understand the schools’ education philosophies and explore educational pathways for their children. 【Fai Chun Writing Workshop for Community Engagement】 The debut community event of the Talent+ Volunteer Programme was a success today, co-hosted by Hong Kong Talent Engage (HKTE), Christian Action Hong Kong (CAHK), and the Hong Kong Quality and Talent Migrants Association (HKQTMA). Ms Anna Au, Deputy Director of HKTE and Mrs CHEUNG-ANG Siew Mei, Executive Director of CAHK, attended to support the event, participating alongside with talent who volunteered in a meaningful Talent+ Volunteer Programme: Fai Chun Writing (“Chinese Calligraphy”) Workshop. First announced in September this year, the Talent+ Volunteer Programme aims to strengthen the connections and foster exchanges between talent and the local community, as well as individuals from diverse backgrounds. In this valuable workshop, CAHK and HKQTMA brought together local volunteers and incoming talent to teach children interested in Chinese calligraphy about the fundamentals and cultural significance of Fai Chun writing. With an eye toward the future, HKTE is dedicated to collaborating with designated partners to host more community events.
