This fall, Future Ready Fest, CollegeCON, and 8th-grade college visits brought this vision to life. 🌟 Future Ready Fest connected students and families with over 60 colleges, career programs, and community partners, equipping them with tools to plan for their futures. 🌟 CollegeCON offered interactive workshops on financial aid, scholarships, and career exploration, while also showcasing insights from college reps, industry professionals, and alumni. 🌟 8th-grade college visits gave many students their first-ever experience on a college campus at the University of Washington. Hands-on workshops made it a memorable introduction to college life. 🏈Seattle Seahawks Celebrate the Future of Football at our Girls Flag Jamboree! 📣 Last week, we hosted the Seattle Seahawks inaugural Girls Flag Takeover at our Girls Flag Football Jamboree 🏳️ at Highline Memorial Stadium. Seahawks dancers, mascot Blitz, 🥁drumline Blue Thunder, and Seahawks legend Bryan Walters brought their signature gameday energy to cheer on our athletes. Fierce and fast-moving games showcased the talent and determination of our girls flag football athletes. Players demonstrated precision passing, strategic plays, and defensive skills as Blue Thunder set the beat. The audience included two Highline School Board directors, Azeb Hagos and Stephanie Tidholm, who brought their families. Highline Pirates head coach Nicky Fualaau was recognized with a Coach of the Game Award and a $1,000 donation to support the girls flag football program. Bryan Walters, who played in the Seahawks’ Super Bowl XLVIII championship, presented the award. Varsity teams included Highline High School and the Evergreen-Tyee co-op team, along with Mount Rainier High School, who took on Auburn Riverside High School. The Seahawks Community Engagement team captured the spirit of the event: “Together, we will show the world that the future of football is female.” At Highline Public Schools, we are proud of our athletes and grateful for partners like the Seahawks who are helping grow opportunities for girls in sports. #HighlineProud #GirlsFlagFootball #Seahawks
