About us

HGA is a national interdisciplinary design firm committed to making a positive, lasting impact for our clients and communities through research-based, holistic solutions. "It can be transformative to help understand the experiences of folks and hear the actual veteran stories...in our new space, you’ll walk through and you'll hear their accounts.” Randle Dietrich of the Minnesota Military & Veterans Museum at Camp Ripley, spoke with MPR News about the immersive and interactive experience that will connect the artifacts with the people and stories behind them. HGA partnered with the museum on a collaborative research and design process, envisioning a museum that will transcend time and place, honoring veterans for years to come. From the scale model to the finished building, University of Alaska Fairbanks' Museum of the North was inspired by the symbiotic play of ice, snow, sky and mountains. Standing against the vastness of the northern landscape, the building’s pearlescent finish reflects Fairbanks’ varied light patterns. The hues of its façade are artfully manipulated by its surroundings throughout each day and season. Angled, curved, tipped and cantilevered forms reflect the dramatic lines and shapes found across Alaska’s coastlines, mountains and glaciers. Enhanced exhibit space and improved research facilities house over a million artifacts and specimens, allowing the museum to advance its core mission — interpreting and preserving Alaska’s natural, cultural and artistic history. 📍 Museum of the North | Fairbanks, AK 📸 Nic Lehoux / Patricia Fisher Photography

Health equity is the fervent belief that every person should have the opportunity to achieve their highest level of health. Regardless of socioeconomic status, race, gender, ability, or geographic location. In healthcare design, this concept goes beyond providing access to care. In this recent Insights piece, Senior Design Researcher, Terri Zborowsky, and Vice President of Equity, Terri Howard, discuss the responsibilities we carry as stewards of the built environment. From addressing disparities to creating a sense of belonging—health equity aligns with the building industry’s growing awareness to support positive social change through design. ➡ https://lnkd.in/edkazgxB
