This week, I attended the WorkforceConnect's Career Exploration Day, an event dedicated to empowering the next generation of skilled professionals. In partnership with amazing organizations like AGC Apprenticeship , Junior Achievement of San Diego County, Sierra Pacific West, Inc, Balfour Beatty plc, Building Industry Association of San Diego, Burnham Center for Community Advancement, Helix Electric, and PHCC San Diego Chapter, this event brought together 45 motivated students from Chula Vista Learning Community Charter to explore careers in construction, technology, and the skilled trades. The students experienced hands-on learning at interactive workstations—trying their hand at wiring circuits, learning plumbing essentials, construction techniques and equipment simulators. My excitement and curiosity mirrored the students in the room! Thank you, WorkforceConnect, for inviting me and having BCCA be a part of this experience.
