We are thrilled to announce the addition of former NASA associate administrator Jim Reuter and retired four-star General William L. Shelton to Helicity Space’s Strategic Advisory Board. “Willie and Jim’s extensive understanding of both space and national security will not only bolster our current board, but also enhance Helicity’s mission of increasing access to deep space,” said Marta Calvo, co-founder and chief operations officer. “We’re pleased to welcome them to the Helicity team as we fuel the expansion of space exploration and defense efforts that are currently not possible today.” Read more here: https://bit.ly/4eZOD4J Meet our Strategic Advisors: https://lnkd.in/gHu4zq65

Congratulations to Hélène Huby and The Exploration Company on this record-breaking milestone, a huge step forward for European innovation! We’re excited to see the impact this funding will have on the future of space logistics and cooperation.
We are thrilled to announce the closing of our $160 million Series B led by Balderton Capital and Plural - to develop and test Nyx, the first European reusable space capsule, expand the 200-strong team, and scale capacity. This marks the largest space Series B in Europe, powering our vision for affordable, sustainable, and cooperative space exploration. With this investment, we will further develop Nyx to meet the world’s rapidly-growing demand for space logistics, from supporting space stations to lunar exploration. We are grateful for the trust both our old and new investors have in The Exploration Company team. We believe a round like this is important for not only The Exploration Company but the European space and start-up ecosystem at large. To quote our CEO, Helene Huby: "This significant raise is a reflection of not only the talent and commitment of the team at TEC but also that building global companies with European roots can only be done through fostering trust and cooperation between European countries. 98% of our shareholders are European, demonstrating that the continent can finance bold entrepreneurs. Space will play a critical role in shaping humanity’s future and I want to contribute to building a future which is peaceful and cooperative and our European DNA fits perfectly with this mission. Over the past 12 months, we have hit major operational and financial milestones and signed significant service contracts with both space agencies and commercial clients. This new funding is the next step in scaling up our ambitions and I’m delighted to welcome Plural, Balderton Capital, NGP Capital and Bessemer to our journey, alongside our previous investors. Their support and ambition will be critical as we take another important step closer to our Nyx Earth launch and build a European space leader.” Plural Balderton Capital Bessemer Venture Partners NGP Capital Bpifrance DTCF | DeepTech & Climate Fonds Bayern Kapital EQT Ventures Red River West Cherry Ventures Promus Ventures Omnes

As we gather with friends and family throughout the holiday season, we are grateful for the spirit of exploration that has inspired innovators past and present. We’re especially thankful for the incredible Helicity team, dedicated to the development of in-space fusion propulsion, bringing us closer to a future where journeys to distant destinations, like Mars, are faster, safer and more sustainable. Here’s to collaboration, innovation and the pursuit of something greater. #FusionPropulsion #RedPlanet #Innovation

The #HelicitySpace team enjoyed presenting our concept at the annual APS Division of Plasma Physics meeting last week in collaboration with Caltech, University of Maryland Baltimore County and Los Alamos National Laboratory. It was great connecting with the premier international plasma physics community to share our exciting progress as we continue working to increase the efficiency of space transportation. We’re proud to join the global celebration of exploration and innovation during #WorldSpaceWeek. As our community focuses on the intersection of space and sustainability, we’re reminded of the role that space technology plays in addressing global challenges. #FusionPropulsion will unlock new possibilities for humanity to explore the far reaches of our solar system and beyond, and at #HelicitySpace, our work aims to contribute to a future where space travel is not only faster and more efficient but also more sustainable than ever before. The future is closer than it seems, and we’re excited to be part of the journey alongside so many in the space community.

Another milestone achieved in fusion propulsion's official recognition as a business activity by the IRS! It’s exciting to see the future we’ve envisioned as an industry starting to come to fruition. Onward! #HelicitySpace #StartupJourney #FusionPropulsion

Allyson Sellner joined #HelicitySpace as a Staff Scientist in June 2023, just two weeks after earning her degree in Physics and Astronomy-Physics from University of Wisconsin-Madison. During her undergraduate years, she worked on the Madison Symmetric Torus (MST), designing experimental diagnostics and analyzing plasma data. Allyson’s interest is advancing #deepspace exploration to uncover more about the solar system’s phenomena. We're excited to have her contributing to our mission to enable faster, more efficient #spacetransportation through the development of #fusionpropulsion. #SpaceExploration #PlasmaPhysics #TeamHelicity
