Dispatches from the Startup Summit at Kenya Innovation Week (KIW): The session on leveraging local corporate financing and funding mechanisms to sustain #Startups highlighted that local corporate-sponsored grant partnerships with local financial institutions are available as alternative funding routes. Speakers noted that the solution is to understand the gaps, innovate solutions that solve them, and foster strong partnerships. Wangui Muna highlighted Heifer’s pivotal role in supporting startup funding through the #AYuTeAfricaChallenge.
