CESLC's Dr. Elisa Gil-Pires, MD, FACP, CMD, CPE and Dr. Joanne Kinney, a primary care practitioner at Hirsh Health Center, shared key insights on maintaining a strong immune system during the winter months at a workshop at Ring House yesterday afternoon. Dr. Gil and Dr. Kinney highlighted the following practical tips: 1. Prioritize Sleep: Adequate rest is crucial for immune function. 2. Eat Well: A balanced diet rich in nutrients supports overall health. 3. Stay Active: Regular exercise, including walking and yoga, keeps your immune system strong. 4. Try New Hobbies: Engaging in new activities stimulates the mind and adds joy. Be sure to check out our upcoming events! Click the link to RSVP https://lnkd.in/dEiS55a

Early last week, we came together to celebrate Thanksgiving and our appreciation for one another at a special luncheon for #CESLC associates. Our dining services team crafted a special meal, which was then served by members of our leadership, to lead in to the busy holiday weekend. We are grateful for the opportunity to connect and reflect. #ExperienceMatters

BIG NEWS: Hebrew Home of Greater Washington earned top national honors from Newsweek and U.S. News & World Report! Newsweek ranked HHGW as the top nursing home in Maryland on its list of “America’s Best Nursing Homes” for 2025, a distinction shared by less than 15% of the nation’s nursing homes. HHGW also earned the “high performing” rating for both short-term rehabilitation and long-term care from U.S. News & World Report. Only 5% of nursing homes surveyed earned this rating in both categories. These awards highlight our associates' commitment to providing the best quality care to all those we serve - congratulations and thank you! Last week, in honor of National Hospice and Palliative Care Month, Bridget Burke Florsic, LCSW-C, APHSW-C Burke, LMSW, LGSW and Maria Kaplan, RN, BSN, CHPN, with JSSA Hospice, led a powerful virtual discussion exploring the vital role that culture plays in shaping our perceptions of death and dying and how diverse cultural perspectives impact decision-making, communication, and the overall experience of care for patients and their families. Early referrals to hospice care ensure that physical, emotional, and spiritual needs receive greater attention. If you have questions or want to schedule an informational session or evaluation, contact the JSSA Hospice intake department via email at HospiceIntakeTeam@jssa.org or by phone at 301-816-2676.
