Amisha Williams, Senior Claims Manager at Tokio Marine HCC – Stop Loss Group, was selected to attend the inaugural Tokio Marine Group Global Women’s conference that took place October 17-18th in Tokyo, Japan. There were participants from each of our 20 global group companies within Tokio Marine Group – hailing from Japan, United States of America, China, Brazil, Spain, United Kingdom, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, Thailand, and Singapore. “A takeaway of being part of this phenomenal and once in a lifetime experience is that this allowed me to see as women, regardless of where we’re from, what positions we hold professionally, and differences in culture, there are glaring commonalties. We share the same fears, shared experiences professionally/personally, triumphs, and adversities. There is work to be done as far as equality in the workforce, but there is a feeling of solace and extreme gratification that an emphasis has been put on not only addressing this in our organization but acting on it and implementing seeds of change. What developed during this conference was a network created to uplift one another and offer mutual support and guidance, while navigating this winding, and at times, jarring professional road…and doing so with sincerity. I will be forever humbled and grateful to have been part of this extraordinary endeavor,” said Amisha about the conference.
