We’re bringing the heart of HBCU culture to Los Angeles. 🎺 On February 1, 2025, the Honda Battle of the Bands is taking over SoFi Stadium, and it’s going to be a moment. 🌟 Expect six phenomenal HBCU bands delivering unmatched precision, style, and energy. Nick Cannon 🎤 will guide the night as host, and Glorilla 🎶 is set to bring a performance that’ll have the whole stadium on its feet. This is about more than music—it’s about celebrating the community, creativity, and excellence that HBCUs represent. 🙌🏾 For alumni, it’s a chance to reconnect and wear your colors with pride. 🎓 For students, it’s inspiration. 💡 And for everyone, it’s a reminder of the talent, leadership, and culture that have always been at the core of HBCUs. If you’ve been waiting for a reason to visit LA, this is it. ✈️ Grab your tickets at hondabattleofthebands.com and join us for an unforgettable evening of unity, tradition, and celebration. 🎟️ Let’s show the West Coast what HBCU excellence is all about. See you there! 🏆 #HBOB2025 #HBCUPride #BlackExcellence #TheYardGoesWest #StepIntoTheLegacy

The #1 site for HBCU Students and Graduates to connect to each other and great opportunities!
About us
HBCU CONNECT was founded in 1999 by Hampton University graduate William Roger Moss III, who connected with fellow HBCU grad and entrepreneur E. Shawn Starks to create the first African American targeted social network launched as "hbcu-central.com". We simply thought it would be a great idea to provide a useful social network for HBCU graduates with the capability to upload photos! Back then there were no social networks around with member profiles for college students or graduates so we set out on our mission to serve this audience! Since 1999, we've focused on serving the needs of our audience by providing a platform for networking, professional opportunities, educational opportunities and facilitating connections between our audience and the savvy organizations looking to hire from, or brand themselves with this tight-knit HBCU community. We are the best at what we do for several reasons, but especially because we genuinely CARE about those we serve and the future of the Historically Black Colleges and Universities.

“As a proud HBCU alumni (Morgan State University), something that has always impressed me about Erie Insurance is not only the intrinsic focus on growth and development of our employees and promoting from within — but also ensuring there’s a strong emphasis on diversity, equity and inclusion — both of which make ERIE unique. I’ve taken advantage of many courses and trainings over my 25 years at ERIE, and they’ve really helped me improve and develop myself as a person, employee and leader.” — Bern-Nadette Morgan, Claims Supervisor Are you looking for a career that grows with you?
