(CARE; Compassionate Acute Response Engagement) This collaboration is both innovative and transformative. By embedding peer specialists within hospital environments, the partnership bridges the gap between clinical care and patient experience, offering empathetic support from individuals with lived experiences. This approach not only benefits patients but also enriches the medical staff's ability to address the holistic needs of mothers during labor and delivery. The inclusion of peer support specialists fosters a more comprehensive care model, promoting emotional well-being alongside physical health. The Intermountain Health hospitals in Colorado where Operation CARE will be active include: Saint Joseph (Denver), Lutheran (Wheat Ridge), Good Samaritan (Lafayette), Platte Valley (Brighton) and St. Mary's Regional (Grand Junction).
