AI is changing how labor is priced? AI native companies charge per use, not per seat, and their services automate entire tasks. You can now: - Infinitely scale in parallel. - Turn off the switch when not needed. - Monitor outcomes accurately. This is leading to efficiencies not seen before with enterprise software, and an amazing opportunity: Higher incentives for the teams leveraging AI tools, as they become significantly more productive. And, as our customers say: “less soul-breaking tasks” done by people.
AI is transforming how software companies price their products. As automation replaces human tasks, traditional per-seat pricing is becoming outdated. Instead, companies are adopting models that charge for results—like successful outcomes or usage—reflecting the real value AI delivers. While there’s no one-size-fits-all for AI pricing, Ivan Makarov, James da Costa and Equals write, patterns are emerging: AI-native companies like Decagon, Cursor, and ElevenLabs favor new models, while incumbents such as Zendesk and Notion layer AI onto existing products. Dive deeper into these shifts in this week’s Enterprise newsletter 👇

HappyRobot (YC S23) has raised a $15.6M Series A to automate communication across the supply chain with their AI workers. Javi Palafox, Pablo Palafox, and Luis Paarup started HappyRobot after Javi's experience as a shipper getting crazy fines from big retailers for late deliveries. Fines that could have been prevented with better communication. Since Pablo & Luis were AI researchers, eager to work with recent developments in voice AI, they started solving this communication challenge on the phone. The supply chain that supports our global economy is actually largely orchestrated over the phone or email, where conversations are spent exchanging information. Freight brokers are overwhelmed with inbound interest and regular check-ups on loads. HappyRobot's AI workers are deployed to manage these conversations over the phone, email, or any channel, automating communication tasks for brokers, 3PLs, carriers and warehouses. With HappyRobot, every opportunity is captured and every load checked. Customers are increasing efficiency while reducing operational costs by one-third, their employees are freed to focus on higher value strategy and relationship building, while their customers get information 24/7 with no hold time. Congrats to the team on the Series A! https://lnkd.in/gn6-WKeN
