  • Tips for a Stress-Free New Year’s Eve for Dogs 🐾 New Year’s Eve celebrations are exciting for us, but they can be a bit overwhelming for our furry friends. Here are a few tips to help your dog stay calm and happy during the festivities: 🐕 Exercise them earlier in the day: Take your pup for a long walk or a fun play session to burn off energy. A tired dog is a relaxed dog, and this can help them feel more settled during the evening. 🏠 Keep them indoors during fireworks: Fireworks might be thrilling for humans, but they can be frightening for dogs. Create a safe and cosy space inside where they can retreat if they feel anxious. Close windows, draw curtains, and keep the volume of the TV or music at a comfortable level to mask the noise. 🦴 Provide a favourite toy or treat: Distract your dog with their favourite chew toy, puzzle game, or a yummy treat. This can help redirect their focus and create positive associations during the festivities. 💛 We’re Here to Help! Contact us today to learn more or book a last-minute stay! Let’s make this New Year’s Eve stress-free for everyone. 🐾 Colin: 07855 425 315 🐾 Alison: 07734 256 979 www.happylabskennels.co.uk #HappyLabsKennels #NewYearsEve #DogCareTips #PetsAndFireworks

  • Keep Your Pup Safe This Christmas! The festive season is filled with joy, but it also comes with hidden dangers for our furry friends. Keep your dog safe, calm and happy this Christmas with these simple tips: 🎅 Watch Out for Dangerous Foods Chocolate, mince pies, and stuffing may be holiday staples, but they’re toxic to dogs. Keep these treats well out of reach, and instead, treat them to dog-safe snacks. 🎄 Secure Your Tree Curious pups may knock over or chew on the Christmas tree. Use a sturdy stand, avoid low-hanging ornaments, and ensure electrical cables are out of their reach. 🎁 Mind the Wrapping Tinsel, ribbons, and wrapping paper can look like toys to your dog but are choking hazards. Remove them promptly after unwrapping gifts. 🕯️ Caution with Candles Candles can be a hazard if knocked over by wagging tails. Use flameless LED candles or place them out of reach to avoid accidents. 🎆 Create a Calm Space The excitement of guests, music, and new smells can be overwhelming. Set up a quiet, cosy spot where your dog can retreat and relax. 🐾 Avoid Toxic Plants Festive plants like poinsettias, holly, and mistletoe can be harmful if ingested. Choose artificial alternatives or keep them in pet-free zones. Christmas is all about family — and that includes your dog! With a little extra care, the holiday season can be safe, joyful, and full of tail wags. 🎁🐕
