Last week, I shared insights from CBRE's latest report, highlighting a renewed demand for leasing new spaces. But the big question remains: when is the right time to expand your footprint? Space allocation in both higher education and corporate environments often feels political—everyone wants more, but unless you measure it, you don’t know what’s true. Recently, one of Occuspace's customers was ready to lease an additional 40,000 sq. ft. building based on requests from a few teams. However, after sitting down with them, we showed them that with their current growth and hiring plans, they could comfortably wait another 9 months before needing to expand. This decision saved them nearly $900,000. I’d love to hear your thoughts—how do you or your clients navigate space allocation decisions that can get political in your/their organizations?
