  • Several of our team members had the opportunity to attend the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) Convention this year in Orlando, FL. Our team greatly enjoys spending time with our clients and partners in the Amusements industry during this signature event. In addition to the trade show, there are many educational opportunities. In a session entitled “Your deposition is served: Time to Prepare with Waterpark Attorneys,” nearly 70 attendees gathered to hear from a stellar panel of legal and claims professionals on how amusement operators can best prepare for potential guest incidents — both before and after a claim is made. A big thank you to our expert panelists:   Paul Cavanaugh of Daly Cavanaugh LLP Gaylee Gillim, ICAE from the Law Office of Gaylee W. Gillim Geoff Norton from Norton & Melnik And of course, our own Director of Claims & Risk Management, Kent Sanders, representing H&W. Kent took the stage with a memorable role-play as a water park manager who "bumbles" his way through a deposition after multiple guest injuries on a water slide — highlighting the critical importance of preparation for handling incidents and claims in the amusement industry. This session provided invaluable insights on how to navigate legal challenges and mitigate risks effectively. We're proud to have Kent as a key part of our team, helping share this important knowledge to attendees.

  • Several members of our team had the opportunity to volunteer at Heart to Heart International this week, packing over 675 hygiene kits to be distributed with their humanitarian efforts. Even though these kits may seem small in the grand scheme of things, they provide the simple sense of dignity and comfort to those going through a hardship. This year alone, Heart to Heart has shipped out over 60,000 hygiene kits across the world. If you are interested in learning more about Heart to Heart, or ways you can get involved, please visit them online at https://lnkd.in/dk7Zzdw. We are grateful for our generous team members and their contributions in giving back to our community!

  • We are pumped for our Kansas City Chiefs return to the Super Bowl, but today we had our SOUPER BOWL! It was our 5th annual chili, soup and cornbread cookoff and our team members came to win! Complete with four different chilis, eleven soups, seven variations of cornbread and cinnamon rolls to top it off, it was fun to see who walked away with the Golden Ladle (and Golden Pan). Congratulations to these great cooks! Brad Harwell (Best Chili) Janet Toohey (Best Soup) Lindsey Reynolds and Christina Ramirez (Tie for Best Cornbread)
