Our leadership team recently had the chance to serve the military veterans and families who call Guild Mortgage home. I can’t think of a better way to express gratitude than to serve those who serve us by protecting our great nation. What a special time it was to stand alongside other members of our executive leadership team as we served a hot meal, packed Hero Box care kits, and thanked our military families and veterans for all their sacrifices. I hope each of us will take time this week – and every chance possible – to show our gratitude through service to others. It’s part of our Guild culture and it’s something all of us in every company and across industries can share. Happy Thanksgiving Week!

Sometimes traditions change. For years, I celebrated Thanksgiving at work by deep frying a turkey with Trey Rigdon for our marketing team and then having a giant potluck a few days before Thanksgiving. Between pandemics and career moves that tradition ran its course. This year at Guild Mortgage our team started what I hope becomes a new tradition. We challenged our team (50+ people spread across the country) to spend a day with teammates in driving distance volunteering and serving together in their communities. This team. Y’all. They embraced it! We had people volunteering at shelters, schools, food banks, parks, and community centers all over America this past Thursday and Friday. What an awesome way to say thank you to each other and our communities. Thank you to my Guild teammates for making this happen! Next year…it’s going to be even bigger! (And I’m going to figure out a way to bring back the fried turkey) 🦃
