I am thrilled to share that our work, "Integrating unacknowledged socioeconomic energy vulnerabilities in Urban Building Energy Modelling workflows: Informing intervention strategies for underrepresented communities" presented at the #IBPSA #BS2023 conference, is now available online (full paper access). You can access the publication here: https://lnkd.in/emntUEBg 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬: - Evaluates the impact of energy vulnerability on the EUI of the Grove Park Neighborhood, a low-income community in Atlanta, GA. - Defines a methodology for identifying the days of thermal discomfort experienced due to necessary self-imposed regulation or disconnections by the service provider, with the aim of reducing energy consumption and health implications. - Compares EUI for a traditional occupancy use case against three reduced occupancy rate scenarios. - Informs effective retrofit strategies that not only reduce energy consumption but also the number of days spent in thermal discomfort and disconnected utility service.
