Recently, Greentech Renewables Design Services has seen the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) in Oregon using stricter fire setbacks requirements listed in the state code as compared to the international codes. It is an issue we have seen a lot recently with customers, specifically in the Portland & Salem regions. Fire setbacks are a requirement for emergency services; they are pathways which allow firemen to get on the building's roof and climb to the ridgeline to create ventilation holes. Our internal education covered the ESS sizing guidelines, specifications, and configuration. We learned the Anker Solix X1 system comes in four versions, with PV inputs ranging from 7.36 kW to 12 kW of PV input, while the AC output ranges from 3.68 kW to 6 kW. Greentech Renewables Design Services help customers meet solar design criteria required by the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) in your area. When installing on a tile roof in South Florida (Miami Dade and some surrounding areas), attachments must be approved for use in the High Velocity Hurricane Zone (HVHZ). To determine if a product is approved for use, we can either confirm it has a current Miami Dade NOA or confirm the current Florida Product Approval number associated with the attachment is approved for use in HVHZ on the Florida DBPR website (see example attached).
