Job Overview: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Backflow and Maintenance Technician to join our team. This individual will be responsible for performing backflow testing, installations, and repairs while being open to training and taking on additional responsibilities for maintaining various systems, including lift stations, domestic booster pumps, water heaters, and boilers.

Job Responsibility: Backflow Testing and Maintenance
Conduct testing of backflow prevention devices in compliance with local and state regulations.
Perform installations, repairs, and replacements of backflow prevention assemblies.
Maintain accurate records of testing and repairs for compliance reporting.
Maintenance of Additional Systems
Assist in the maintenance and repair of lift stations, domestic booster pumps, water heaters, and boilers.
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and recommend solutions for system malfunctions.
Collaborate with senior technicians to learn the operation and maintenance of these systems.
General Responsibilities
Respond promptly to service requests and perform scheduled maintenance.
Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
Participate in on-the-job and formal training sessions to develop technical skills.
Provide excellent customer service and represent the company in a professional manner.
Required Skills:
Basic knowledge of plumbing and backflow prevention devices. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, and diagrams. Familiarity with relevant safety standards and procedures. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with tools and equipment needed to test, repair or replace a backflow or perform maintenance on various plumbing systems. Ability to report to work on time, maintain a good attendance.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in backflow prevention device installation, testing, and repair.
Certification as a backflow prevention assembly tester from a recognized Authority. (Enrollment in backflow assembly tester courses if needed by state recognized organization)
8 years' progressive experience in the water utility, plumbing, or industries including reading, reviewing, and interpreting construction plans.
Overall, a backflow/Maintenance tech must be knowledgeable, experienced, and able to perform their duties to ensure the job is being done to the best of their abilities.
Terms of Employment
- Type of Employment: Full-Time, Exempt
- Work Hours: 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday (On-call as needed)
