💧 Ever wonder where your water comes from and how it’s made safe to use? 💧 HOMESTEAD ELECTRICAL CONTRACTING, LLC is proud to partner with the City of Waukegan and the Waukegan Water Works on a vital project that serves the surrounding community. Just off the coast, this facility draws water from Lake Michigan, filters it, and distributes it to the City of Waukegan and surrounding areas. While Homestead is involved throughout the facility, the current spotlight is on the raw water pump station — "I'd say that it's the heart of the plant,” Ben Dolan, Homestead’s Infrastructure Divisional Manager, said during an interview. Homestead’s role as the electrical contractor includes installing state-of-the-art distribution gear, cabling, conduit, controls for the new pumps, and variable frequency drives to regulate pump speeds. These updates are not only part of an energy efficiency initiative but also critical to ensuring a smoother and more effective process for drawing water into the filtration system. Follow us and check back for more content, including Ben’s full interview about this project and others! #GLCA #GLCAMember #GLCAMemberSpotlight #HomesteadElectricalContracting #CommunityProject #InfrastructureUpgrade #Illinois #LakeMichigan #CityofWaukegan #WaukeganWaterWorks #LakeMichiganWater #CleanWater #InfrastructureUpgrade #CommunityDevelopment #EnergyEfficiency
