We want to thank Colgate-Palmolive for their generous donation to Greater Good Charities’ Good Packs! These toothbrushes and toothpaste went into over 4,000 backpacks full of essentials that are helping people across the country. From individuals experiencing homelessness to families in need after disasters like Hurricanes #Helene and #Milton, these supplies mean our neighbors who could use a helping hand will have support and comfort until they can get back on their feet. This International Day of Veterinary Medicine, we want to highlight the incredible veterinarian who leads our high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter (HQHVSN) program, Dr. Ruth Parkin! Dr. Ruth grew up in the Pacific Northwest and went to veterinary school at Colorado State University. In her second year, she co-founded ViDAS, an organization that travels internationally to hold free HQHVSN services in underserved areas. ViDAS has since been absorbed into Greater Good Charities' Good Fix program, and together the two programs have performed over 60,000 sterilizations! Dr. Parkin also worked as a relief veterinarian and spay/neuter surgeon in Colorado and Oregon, and has traveled to Thailand and South Africa to teach veterinary science through a study abroad program. Her personal interests include playing volleyball, travel, the outdoors and relaxing anywhere with some sunshine and a baseball game to watch.️ We appreciate Dr. Ruth Parkin and so many other veterinarians for helping #AmplifyTheGood for animals in need! #InternationalDayOfVeterinaryMedicine

Hurricanes #Helene and #Milton didn’t just devastate communities—they also wiped out vital forage for hundreds of millions of bees. Without food, these pollinators face a harsh winter they may not survive. Greater Good Charities is the only non-profit mobilizing teams and trucks to move nutrients to surviving bee colonies. Our goal is to help them recover so they can make the trek to states across the nation to pollinate next year's food-producing crops. But we can’t do it alone.
