Eat Organic. The Rest Comes Naturally.
About us
Since 1979, Grandy Organics has crafted small batches of organic granola, trail mix, roasted nuts, muesli and hot cereals in rural Maine. Our mission is to make delicious, healthy, organic foods that produce a variety of nutritional choices for everyone. Our commitment to the environment begins with organic ingredients and a decision to always say no to GMO's and artificial ingredients. We care deeply about our supply chain, and source the most wholesome ingredients from local, organic and non-GMO producers and family farms. In 2015, Grandy Organics purchased and renovated an abandoned elementary school in Hiram, Maine and converted it into a modern bakery. Our EPA award-winning bakery had 288 solar panels that generate enough clean, renewable energy to produce millions of pounds of granola while offsetting over 145,000 pounds of green house gases each year.

We know we are biased, but Maine is special. Not only is it steeped in boundless beauty, but it is also a state that we are proud to call home for our business. Maine is jam packed with so many incredible people willing to help us along our growth journey and so many resources and grants that we have been lucky enough to benefit from. We are a proud recipient of all of the support that Maine has to offer businesses here. Behind every batch of Grandy goodness is a rockstar making it all happen. We are excitedly launching our Employee of the Season series where we take a few minutes to celebrate all of the amazing people that make Grandy... grand. We're kicking it off with Andrew Zuluaga, Grandy's Production Manager. Andrew has been with us for 8 years (!) and without him, our bakery wouldn't run. He is responsible for making sure our products are made, day in and day out. That means scheduling all the right people, managing inventories and recipes, ensuring the product is running as it should be, and making sure it is packed and ready to be delivered to all of you. Phew. That's a lot. And we simply couldn't do it without him. Read more fun facts about Andrew here: https://lnkd.in/eXQxWcDW

The New York Times recently published an article about non pharmaceutical ways to lower your cholesterol. Of course, lifestyle matters. Getting enough sleep and reducing stress will help. But the two biggest drivers are getting ample exercise and diet. “Even adding or replacing a few foods — like adding nuts to your morning granola or swapping red meat with chickpeas or tofu — can help improve your cholesterol,” Dr. Glenn said. So go ahead and add some nuts to your granola in the morning! And dedicate a night to swapping red meat with plant protein. Read here for all the details: https://lnkd.in/eSvd7__i

Meet Dan. (On the right 😉 ). Dan has now worked at Grandy for 9 ( 😲 ) years! When we say Dan is the wearer of many 🎩 , we mean it. He manages all of our order fulfillment - both for our individual consumers and many sales customers; he runs customer service, always greeting every single consumer with a smile and always eager to help them out; and now, because of his incredible, positive personality, he is supporting Grandy with sales work. Dan is dedicated and passionate, he's always willing and wanting to learn more to get out of his comfort zone, a true team player, and just a ton of fun to work with and be around. We are so happy he's stuck with us for NINE years! 🙌

At Grandy, we kicked off our first ever summer outdoor photo challenge. We are running an employee contest from Memorial Day to Labor Day where all employees can submit their Grandy photos and videos from any and all adventures. Sarah Donnell, our Operations Assistant (and baker extraordinaire!) and Daniel Burnell (her partner and man of MANY hats at Grandy Organics including order fulfillment and customer service) took a recent trip to Guam, where Sarah is from. Between volunteering and relaxing and connecting with loved ones, they made this incredible video for us. Think they have a chance of winning our challenge? 😉
